Background
John Whitlock joined Mynta Law in March 2024. He holds an undergraduate degree in International Studies and Political Science from St. Louis University and an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law from the University of Kent. Having obtained experience handling cases that resulted in successfully obtaining various types of residence permits, John is passionate about making migration processes smoother and less stressful for our clients. John speaks English, is proficient in Spanish, and is learning Dutch.

John is highly motivated to help clients find their best path through the Dutch immigration system. John has worked on cases resulting in successfully obtaining the following types of residence permits/statuses:
- Self-employment under the Dutch-American Friendship Treaty ;
- Immigrating to the Netherlands with a criminal record ;
- Permanent residence (Dutch Indefinite, EU Long-term);
- Stay with family (spouse, unmarried partners or child);
- EU testing and verification (for partners of EU citizens);
- Chavez-Vilchez (stay with Dutch child);
- Highly skilled migrant;
- Economically inactive for people who have obtained EU Long Term status in another EU Member State;
- Brexit (permanent) permit;
- Article 8 ECHR (stay with non-EU family member);
- Humanitarian non-temporary
